The Amazonas State will open its doors for the 45th Brazilian Congress of Plant Pathology, to be conducted from 19 to 23 August 2012, at Studio 5 Convention Center in Manaus - a city in the central region of the Amazon rainforest, the margin left the mouth of the Rio Negro in the Amazon River. The event will be promoted by the Brazilian Society of Plant Pathology (SBF) and conducted by Embrapa Western Amazon, Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Ufam), the Executive Plan of Cocoa Farming (Ceplac), the Federal Agriculture in Amazonas (SFA, AM) Foundation for Research Support of the State of Amazonas (Fapeam) and the National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA).
The 45th Brazilian Congress of Plant Pathology has as its central theme the Phytopathological Tropical and Sustainability, with the overall objective to gather, discuss and disseminate information and new technologies on aspects related to the Plant Pathology and the quest for sustainability of agroecosystems little changed, as usually found in tropical regions, by updating knowledge and promote discussion on issues and economic and technical difficulties of plant pathology in the different regions of the country, raising demands for scientific research.
